Can't believe fans actually want Halaand at Utd, the signing simply doesn't make sense. Explain to me how Greenwood will develop at CF with a 400k a week Erling Halaand playing every week for 3-4 years... Halaand will end up at City or Bayern.

fellas, ditch Rice, Palhinha is the man, trust me, Sporting fan since birth basically, Rice will cost ya too much for the output he has, and 45 mil for Palhinha will get you probably the best number 6 in the world under the right coach and with your team, he will desintegrate offenses, i mean....Pogba sure hasnt forgot about him xD

If Martial gets sold this summer, and all the fringe players in the last year of their contracts are let go, I could see United signing both Halland and Rice regardless of wages and transfer fees. The player departures are going to be seen as assets lost, and they'll need to replace them with equally valuable assets to appease the shareholders.

@We're All Experts Now why do you think Pep would be the main draw for him? His dad played there. He has said he loves there stadium etc etc. I hate shitty and their corruption, but they are here and here to stay. Forget the narrative that it's all pep; that's wishful thinking. Like I said before; they attracted players before him, they certainly will after him. Plus, I dont think Haaland is the type of character to doubt himself or his desirability as a footballing talent... so I doubt he'd worry about "not being liked by a possible future manager"

    • We're All Experts Now

      We're All Experts Now

      17 dager siden

@ukbigjon Yes of course, but if you are Haaland and being a young player you will definitely think twice about signing knowing the man you admired and was the main attraction just might make you think twice,as the unknown new manager may not want you or even like you ! it's happened many times in the past, for example if Jose became the new manager of say Real Madrid (imaginary scenario) do you think Pogba would not be so keen to join them as he seems to be at the moment, especially knowing the issues he has had with him at Utd ! now are you seeing my point ? it's a definite risk for a player simply for not knowing who the new manager might be in the near future ! do you now understand my point ? if not then I give up 😅🤣😅🤣 so if that is the case then let's agree to disagree ok 👍 Have a nice week.

@We're All Experts Now city aren't gonna go to Big Sam are they? It will be Nagelsmann, or Conte, or some other big name manager. More dirty money will be poured into the team and they will continue to compete at the top level.

    • We're All Experts Now

      We're All Experts Now

      17 dager siden

@ukbigjon Fair play, but what I am saying is Pep is a big attraction to top players coming or going, just as many top players came to Utd because of SAF, that's not to say City or any other team won't get top players, just some top notch players would rather play for Pep than say Sam Allardyce LOL.

    • ukbigjon

Erling Haaland, Harry Kane & Declan Rice are too expensive at present due to the times. They're Overrated & Overpriced Not Man Utd Type. Over 150M has been lost due to poor recruits so Ole & the board has to take the blame, so they have to buy smart in the recruitment department, so being sensible would go along way when it concern the Club's development. There's other qualities out there at a reasonable price, so it best to search and invest well for the future. Our general play will improve once we add more depth of quality players to the squad that can play the Man Utd way.

I really like Haaland and he is definitely an amazing striker and will only get better but between Raiola being his agent and what they’re demanding in terms of signing on bonus, agent fees and weekly wages idk if we should really go for him. At that age to be making that kind of money could potentially unsettle the dressing room and would definitely demand a pay raise in 3 years when Raiola is talking his bs to the media during the middle of the season.

That's how you build a top squad. Imagine next year this squad as it is, but without Mata, Matic, Fred, Jessie and Martial (but we'll see with the last two, if they find top form then they can stay). Then added to that squad Rice and Haarland. Would be one of if not the best squads in world football. Even if Ole isn't the man to take United to the promise land. He's done an incredible job of building a real United squad and team. Full of top quality young and in their primes players. With strength and depth, cover and competition for every position. Bags of pace and goal scorers. If Ole does end up leaving, the team the next manager would inherent would be out of this world. Never underestimate what Ole has done. He deserves this year and if he can do very well and can do the business next summer like I said above, he deserves the year after. Then we'll see. But no matter what, he has overseen the building of the best United since Ferguson left and frankly the team Ferguson left were not as good on paper as this one. Ole done United proud. Ole outters have such short memories about how crap and boring to watch in 99% of United's games were and how bad the judgement in talent (or at least United style talent) under every manager since Ferguson has been. Ole has pulled United out of a deep hole that was only getting deeper. United fans should be eternally grateful. Again even if he ultimately fails. But I believe he can get us where we want to be. He will just take longer than some managers. Klopp took over 3 years to win the UCL and 4 years to win the league and he was already a very experienced and proven top manager. Ole has been on the rebuild project, learning his craft and soon (certainly by next summer) he'll have built his full true team and then we can see what he can really do. Ps, I'd rather wait a year to get the right man than settle for panic buys that fill the team with crap like LVG and Jose.

    • Neem Noa

      Neem Noa

      16 dager siden

@singsangsung Yeah in that respect they are kind of similar. However neves is not exactly a no6. He is more of an 8 (he even wears an 8 at wolves). Wolverhampton play 5-2-3 that moves into a 3-4-3 when in attack. So they have moutinho and neves in the middle doing a pretty similar job. They all drop deep in defence, and when in attack they try to play the ball wide to the wing backs or adama / trincao and get balls in for Jimenez or go direct on goal. Sometimes moutinho or neves arrives on the edge of the box for a shot. West Ham play a 4-2-3-1 with Benrahma as no10 and Soucek & Rice sitting behind. Out of those two, Soucek tends to break more into the opposition box, while Rice sits. He does the same thing for England. He is more what we are looking for. He is kind of overpriced, yes but that is always the case for an English EPL player going to a big club, especially man utd.

@Michael Collins why would he do that? he’s not a dickhead who’s going yi throw his toys out the pram for a move. you do know the only two options aren’t 1) stay at same club forever and 2) issue a transfer request/force your move? him wanting a move doesn’t mean he’s going to disrespect west ham, he’s still a professional.

@Iain Steele if that’s the case why isn’t he removing himself from matches now? I’m not saying you’re wrong about his status as a Chelsea super fan but I think the only way he’s leaving next summer is if west ham get paid.

Clowns. You have Kessie, Zakaria and B. Kamara - all available on free transfers in 10 months. All very good, young and powerful defensive midfielders with bigger potential than Rice. We aren't great at free signings (as in 6 months ahead free to talk to players in Jan). This time be smart about it - Pogba looks like he won't sign again so sign 2 of them 3 on a free. The rest use on another top creative mid like a Gravenbersch, and young progressive forwards like J. Doku or even Erling's cousin at Molde Albert Braut Tjåland who is 16 & 6 ft 2 and a beast already. I personally struggle to see Haaland coming to us due to his dad's / agents affinity with both Leeds and Man City. I can also see Real Madrid go for both him and Mbappe. Or PSG go for him to replace Mbappe - they will pay 1m euros a week wages and we won't. We have Ronaldo and Greenwood. Ronaldo is a freak, he will be good for 2 years and then Greenwood will develop under CR7's tutoring and add more muscle mass - Greenwood will be a monster when Ronaldo leaves in 2023. Replace Pogba, let Matic and Fred go and refresh the midfield with power & talent.

He replaces Lewandowski at Bayern. That's how it works in Bundesliga, Bayern buy all the good players in the league so they get rid of competitors and strengthen their own team to win the league.

The trouble with Haaland going to City, is the small issue of Pep's long running feud with Raiola. Those to hate each other and could be a sticking point. I think next summers signing depend entirely on if Pogba signs a new contract or not. If he does the club will probably go for on or two big signings, if not they'll probably prioritise a replacement for midfielder...unless they decide to not sign a replacement, and give De Beek a chance to play.

I think Solskjaer made it a point to have a better relationship with Raiola. You can't just ignore probably the world's biggest football agent, when he regularly has the best players as clients. Also, I think Haaland suits Pep's style less than Kane. Kane is much better at passing and bringing others into play. Haaland is a pure finisher (and already one of the best at that, even at such a young age).

Jay forgot about Bayern Munich in the Haaland segment. Lewandowski's 33, contract expires in 2 years, and Munich are always the favourites to sign anyone from the Bundesliga - the entire league is pretty much a feeder for them United are definitely favourites from the Premier League to sign Haaland, but I'd wager Bayern Munich are favourites to sign him

No i can‘t see bayern getting haaland. Lewandowski is still firing and it seems that haaland and raiola want way to much money in fees and wages which bayern aren‘t going to pay. Also it seems that haaland wants to go to an other league with at least a bit more competition as we all already see the hunger for glory in his eyes.
